My son is a freshman at Lakeside and is the only freshman boy who made the varsity soccer team. I am so proud of him. Lakeside Soccer is a tradition at our house. My husband played varsity soccer 4 years in high school at Lakeside and I think while he was there they won 3 state soccer titles or 2 state soccer titles and a runner-up title. Since my son is back at Lakeside playing my husband Merck has been the boy's lay coach for the second season.
Please do support the Lakeside High School Soccer Program which is part of my family and has been for years.
Maybe John will consider adding this to his blog?

Lakeside did not play up to potential. There are some very sad players, coaches and fans at Lakeside. The nice thing is that it is only a game.
Good teams--both will go far.
The game gave the community a chance to show its "muscular" partnership with its school.
When it was asked to come out and vote for TV--it played smash mouth.
The community also has muscular connectivity. The high school newsletter is passed throuhout the feeder schools, being one example. Last week, a choral program with all feeder elementary, the middle and the high school choruses shared a stage.
Its a TOWN dammit--and it will get stronger and stronger in the face of greater and greater adversity from DCSS!
Both teams are very good.
