  4. No worries, Anon! While I was sleeping, with visions of sugarplums dancing in my head, the wonderful Google Blogger elves uploaded the scheduled Christmas post for me! This is the easiest, most powerful program in the world (well, maybe not the "world").

I hope that in 2010, DCSS leads the pack and starts their own blog with the mission to provide information and answer questions as they arise -- regarding SPLOST construction - and regarding education in general. The monthly newsletter "Kaleidoscope" is a good start... but an interactive (monitored) blog would be a very progressive move. And - it's SO EASY to set one up!

  5. Open and Transparent. We would be in total shock. However, it would be nice.

I see such anger toward this site from many of the school board members and toward the individuals who blog regularily on here. It is very sad to me and it should be very sad to many viewers who read this blog.

The School Board Members do not want a blog like this or individuals making comments on this blog.

Celebration, you have provided a service to many citizens of Dekalb County. The School Board is being watched and many of them do not like this at all.

  6. Cere, thank, thank you, thank you for this blog and all of your time and effort!

We all need to reach out and let every county resident know about this blog. Less than one in five county households have children presently in DCSS. But the SPLOST sales tax and school property taxes affect all of us (except for all those non-county residents who sneak into DCSS schools, and non-county DCSS teachers and staff who are allowed to bring in their children to DCSS at a cost of $10,000 per child to each of us).

I am surprised how many DCSS parents and teachers who still don't know about this blog.

Crawford Lewis and his administration spend hundreds of millions per year, and have made so many poor decisions.

The AJC no longer seriously covers DCSS. The Champion occassionally covers it, but it's sporadic and more focused on sports. This blog is the one venue that brings light to the good, bad and ugly of DCSS.

    Thanks again; you rock Cere!!

  8. Celebration, you have done something very good for the community. Thanks.

The School Board do not like the focus of this site on them. However, it is very important to the community.

    Again, thanks.

  9. In the tradition of my long-winded posts, here is my offer of thanks ...

Thank you, Cerebration, for being a catalyst for such fountain of information. Simply having a forum to share information is empowering to the stakeholders in DCSS' area of operations.

To those who would criticize what takes place here I say, "phooey!" While the possibility of mis-information being distributed here certainly exists, I cannot think of one case where something that should have been corrected was not. If there are such cases, then those who know the correct information should share it with the community.

As for some of the vindictive that occasionally has occurred in the comments areas, you have done an incredible job maintaining poster decorum and good humor. No small achievement given the emotional nature of the subjects!

This is truly a public forum and all parties are welcome to educate one another about our public education system.

Regarding DCSS running a similar forum for the public benefit - that is EXACTLY what should happen. Instead of everyone arguing about the facts of DCSS, DCSS should be proactively engaged in the information sharing live and online using tools like this platform. It wouldn't even require any capital - one dedicated "social media" person could simply join the fray, "patrol" this blog and others outlets and keep things honest and above board regarding DCSS official policies and information. Heck, folks on this blog would actually pitch-in that kind of effort. But then again, putting more things in writing may be undesirable if you don't want to be held accountable.

"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote!" - Benjamin Franklin

In the case of DCSS, information is what us lambs need to defend ourselves and our interest in public education. This blog is weapon, albeit imperfect, that does help protect the interests of DeKalb citizens and families.

Truly and accomplishment for public interest and we are in your debt, Cere!

Blog on in 2010 rambo lamb!

  11. Happy Happy New Year's Eve to All! I would like to take this opportunity to say Thank you Thank You Thank you to Cere for the Awesome Self-less job that you do! Cere, you have managed to win over my respect, trust, and admiration! And THAT, My Genius Friend, is no easy task! You not only provide a forum for bloggers with common interests, worries and concerns...you most importantly provide HOPE! And that is HUGE!

It has been a long long tumultuous journey that I have embarked on to bring Truth and Justice to DeKalb, and it ain't been pretty! Such greed, self-interest, and blatant disregard for fellow human beings and INNOCENT Children has managed to sicken and sadden me that I had become a bit disillusioned but again, thanks to you and a few others I am now able to see light at the end of this storm. Nothing lasts forever and it is refreshing to know that others are seeking truth and change just as I am! Happy New Year My Genius Friend!

  12. Son of awcomeonnow reporting. Happy New Year, y'all! Make a 2010
resolution to let your friends know about this blog. Talk it up, post it to your friends on facebook, Twitter (I still don't know how that works, and really don't want to find out) about it.
Thanks for the work, Cere! We're not worthy.
The AJC NOT covering Dekalb County Schools is actually a GOOD
thing, believe it or not. Past experience has proven that they are
more apt to be aiders and abetters
to the worst of the corrupt.
The AJC has a tendency to bury anything embarassing to the money boys in Dekalb (school or county) in the dead letter office.
You'll know that we've made some inroads against the DCSS if they start bad mouthing this blog in the AJC.
