"Police: Mom takes kids out of school to rob Lilburn bank"
Three DeKalb County teens got an unusual field trip Friday when the mother of one of them allegedly checked them out of school so they could accompany her on a bank heist.
Police in Lilburn said Tawander Simmons, 35, of Stone Mountain, robbed a Wells Fargo Bank in the 5500 block of Lawrenceville Highway with three teens Friday morning.
Simmons checked her son Benny Brice, 17, and the two other boys, out of Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain just before the robbery, Deputy Chief of Police Bruce Hedley said.
Three suspects armed with at least one handgun entered the bank at 9 a.m., took cash and ran to a car occupied by a fourth suspect, Hedley said.
A witness called police, and minutes later Lilburn officers spotted the red Toyota Corolla and gave chase.
The suspects crashed into a railroad track at East Ponce de Leon Avenue and I-285 near Clarkston.
Police arrested Simmons and her son and two other teens, both from Lithonia: Glenn Broom, 18, and David Rollins, 17.
I will be watching those 10 important and critical things as I watch the paint dry on the wall.
ReplyDeleteThe cost analysis is out! According to AJC at Get Schooled Blog, Centralized Plan Option 1 saves 150 million dollars the next 10 years. But get this, DECENTRALIZED OPTION 2 SAVES 160 MILLION DOLLARS OVER THE NEXT 10 YEARS.
ReplyDeleteA million dollars more in savings per year to keep the magnets in place. Interesting they come out with this AFTER the Public Workshops on the plan.
