A Public Service Announcement

PROTECT IP / SOPA Breaks The Internet from Fight for the Future on Vimeo.

Go to Fight for the Future and read more.

Visit Wordpress.org and sign the Petitions. Go to Stop American Censorship and send an email to your senator. Then go to "Free Bieber" and create your own "Bieber Cam" video from "behind bars".

This is so serious that many blogs have purposely blacked out today in protest, showing us what the future of the internet could look like if Congress has it's way. The vote on "Protect IP" is scheduled for January 24, so time is of the essence.

Anon, 1:27, I'm not sure where you got that date. As far as I recall, the report is due "mid-January". Certainly, Atkinson will need to spend time with it before sharing it publicly.

This is where I got the date Celebration:
DeKalb County News 6:11 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2012
DeKalb superintendent sidelines finance chief. http://m.ajc.com/news/dekalb/dekalb-superintendent-sidelines-finance-1291141.html
A consultant has been reviewing positions and pay. The first report, due Jan. 13, will focus on administrative positions, from the central office down to individual principals and assistant principals. The second report, due March 15, will assess the rest of the district's 15,000 positions.

Certainly we don't want it to go missing, grow cob-webs, etc.etc.
This is why she earns the big bucks. To sit on G and hire O. Get er done like yesterday - SON.

Cerebration: Sorry !!!
Check this out- New DeKalb school chief: “We are a step away from great.”3:49 pm October 26, 2011, by Maureen Downey

She wants the first phase of the study — an examination of central office staff, instructional coaches, assistant principals and principals through a lens of function, organization and salary — to her desk by Jan 15.

Waiting with great anticipation. Like a hog looking for his food.

“We have the opportunity to save lives generationally or, conversely, not. What we have to have is a sense of urgency. I am pushing to get things addressed as quickly as they can without me putting the cart before the horse. We need to make sure that we understand that our role is to serve, period. The second piece is putting your money where your mouth is – we need to start to look at resources and drive them to the schools.”
Her words - not mine.
The time has come.period

Thanks. I lost track of those dates. Let's hope she continues to push hard for responsible spending - bottom up!

An article about the job audits report is on the ajc now. Pretty interesting results.

AJC reports that the consultant's recommendations (Phase 1) were released on Thursday. Does the reporter mean that the report will be released tomorrow?

Anyhoo, confirms DCSS is very top heavy in administrators at the front office and needs to shed a bunch.

Thanks for posting the IPA PIPPA. Its no joke tho. Everyone who enjoys having a SchoolWatch or a ???Watch or independent news needs to advocate against these proposals. Those that proposed these bills care nothing about freedom of sppeech, even tho they back every chance to legislate increased campaign financing because the lobbyists "speech" must be protected. Crooks, fascists, shills.
